So it has been a while since we've last visited Manville, NJ to watch trains but we decided this was the best shot to shoot a very special locomotive that would be coming through, EMD's demonstrator unit EMDX 2012, the newest SD70ACe on the market that meets EPA Tier 3 emission standards We decided to get down to Manville earlier than the train was supposed to arrive just to see what else would come through. We ventured over to Manville Yard to find a CSX MoW train sitting there. Not too long after we arrived we saw a train backing down the closest track, it seemed like this should be one of the Manville jobs, but it wound up being Q300 finishing up working the yard with TWO Maine Central engines in the middle of the consist. After that there were a few more Eastbounds on the CSX Trenton Line, then it was a little after one and we made our way back to the Lehigh Line assuming 20K would be rolling through any minute, and sure enough the train rolled through. This was a good sign as 290 was suppose to be following 290. We were told there was track work in Flemmington so no trains could run East or West until 5:00, and that 290 had outlawed in Allentown Yard and was supposed to be crewed by 4:30.
