Miquel Brown - So Many Men So Little Time
Description: The first pioneering record of the whole High Energy scene. Made after four years where I couldn't make a single recording simply because everyone said Disco was dead. Two million sales of this record proved them all wrong. But despite it being number one pop in France and Mexico, and number one in the US on Billboard's dance chart, it never even charted in England, despite selling fifty thousand copies here. Things have certainly changed since then. Miquel came from Detroit, libed in England, had a small 1970s disco hit called "Symphony Of Love", and was the perfect artist to record my anthem. Her daughter, Sinitta, was Simon Cowell's first ever hit artist.

Miquel Brown - Close To Perfection
Description: The late great New York DJ, Shaun Buchanan, championed this record, "Close To Perfection", and made it one of the anthems at the legendary nightclub, The Saint, in New York in the 1980s. Miquel Brown's biggest hit, "So Many Men So Little Time", was the first pioneering record of the whole High Energy scene. Made after four years where I couldn't make a single recording simply because everyone said Disco was dead. Two million sales of that record proved them all wrong. But despite it being number one pop in France and Mexico, and number one in the US on Billboard's dance chart, it never even charted in England, despite selling fifty thousand copies here. Things have certainly changed since then. Miquel came from Detroit, lived in England, had a small 1970s disco hit called "Symphony Of Love", and was the perfect artist to record my anthem. Her daughter, Sinitta, was Simon Cowell's first ever hit artist. Although "Close To Perfection", with it's lilting strings and smooth soulful laid back feel, was not as big as the two million selling "So Many Men So Little Time", this wonderful song became a "sleaze" anthem in New York, the word "sleaze" meaning slower cooler music which they played later on in the night, to cool things down after the peak of all the High Energy. And unlike its predecessor, this song was also picked up by Tony Blackburn and adored by the London Soul Fraternity

Miquel Brown & Sinitta- So Many Men So Little Time & So Macho
Description: These two songs were big hits for Miquel Brown (mother of Sinitta) and Sinitta (daughter of Miquel Brown). Miquel Brown -So Many Men So Little Time (1983) and Sinitta -So Macho (1986). - Miquel Brown (born circa 1945) is a Canadian actress and Disco/Soul singer from the 1970s and '80s most popular for the songs 'Close to Perfection' and the Hi-NRG songs 'So Many Men, So Little Time' and "He's A Saint, He's A Sinner" (both now considered vintage gay anthems) produced in London by Ian Levine. Also known for her boyish cornrows hairstyle, which she altered into a more womanly cut after some confusion regarding her gender (public, not personal).[citation needed] Originally named Michael, her parents changed the spelling (but retained the pronunciation) so as not to confuse her with a male producer and children's author of the time (Michael Brown). She is the mother of actress/singer Sinitta.[citation needed]. She is the step sister of disco singer Amii Stewart. -Sinitta (born Sinitta Renet Malone, October 19, 1966, Seattle, Washington[1]) is an American actress and singer who has lived in the United Kingdom most of her career, famed for her hit records in the 80's including, "So Macho", "Toy Boy", "Cross My Broken Heart" and "Right Back Where We Started From", and her close relationship with Simon Cowell. She is the daughter of singer Miquel Brown, and is also the niece of Amii Stewart.

Miquel Brown - He's A Saint He's A Sinner
Description: It's curious that the follow up to the two million selling "So Many Men So Little Time" was actually a much bigger hit in the UK than its predacessor. This video was shot after Miquel had been in hospital, so, unable to dance around as much as normal, some outrageous dancers were brought in. This resulted in the TV switchboards being jammed with complaints and Miquel herself went on a type of Points Of View program, to justify the dancers, which were in reality fairly innocent, but at the time were considered too provocative, too sexual, and in extremely bad taste. So a wave of controversy surrounded this little single. For those interested in minutaea, I desperately wanted to get the name of the Saint Nightclub in New York into the title of a record, hence, in 1984, "He's A Saint, He's A Sinner"

MIQUEL BROWN ~♫~ THIS TIME IT'S REAL ~♫~ BABY BOLLOX MAGIC REMIX
Description: MIQUEL BROWN - THIS TIME IT'S REAL - BABY BOLLOX MAGIC REMIX. Miquel Brown (born circa 1945) is a disco/soul singer from the '70's and '80's most popular for the songs 'Close to Perfection' and the Hi-NRG 'So Many Men, So Little Time'. Also known for her boyish cornrows hairstyle, which she altered into a more womanly cut after much confusion regarding her gender (public, not personal). Originally named Michael, her parents changed the spelling (but retained the pronunciation) so as not to confuse her with a male producer and children's author of the time (Michael Brown). She was born in Montreal and reared in Vancouver, Canada, although some sources list her birthplace as Detroit, Michigan. In need of a producer in the early '80's, Miquel crossed the paths of Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench in 1983. Together with Record Shack Records, they created the album 'Manpower', a Hi-NRG classic. In the two years following this album's release, Miquel appeared in stage productions of Only in America, the Lieber and Stoller Musical; The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and One Mo' Time, as well as in numerous international clubs but did not release any more albums until 1985. 'Close to Perfection' (also produced by Levine), could not compete with her first success. Later songs include 'On the Radio' (not the Donna Summer song), 'Footprints in the Sand' and 'This Time It's Real', on Ian Levine's own 'Nightmare Records' label.
