I am (a young professional and old soul) dedicated to restoration ecology, ecofeminism, indigenous ecological knowledge, & permaculture, building community & ecological conscience ... My passions lie in simply & peacefully reconnecting with the wonders of the natural world & with each other; reinvisioning our present concept of reality, as a part of the ecosystems on which we inherently depend. My vision is, in the words of the Hopi, "blending with the land & celebrating life." The sacred is ...

Why mobile social discovery is the next emerging trend - with Glancee co-founder Alberto Tretti
Description: Mobile social discovery - the act of finding people around you that you know through your mobile device - is emerging as the next great service battle being fought today. Companies are tying location with our social graph (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) with the hopes of creating pro-active serendipity and there are a number of companies that are vying for your network - a href="www.glancee.com"Glancee is one. This is a real-world problem. Often times we are not optimizing our time at airports, events, games - anything social - and services like Glancee help make sure we don't miss the important people we want to meet with. Glancee's story is a good one - as most mobile/entrepreneur stories are. Alberto Tretti is the co-founder and, while we do talk about the industry, the product itself and his motivation for starting it, we spend an incredible amount of time on his decision process for deciding what features should be in the product (and thus, which shouldn't be in the product), as well as the importance of a great and simple user interface and user experience while designing the software. It is hard to build something that is easy to use. The best part of this segment is how he become a mobile entrepreneur. Enjoy!

AIPAC: The Voice of America — Part 1: The Orange and the Pea
Description: There can be no doubt, at least as far as Middle East Policy is concerned, that AIPAC is the Voice of America. Although I have heard AIPAC pronounced in two distinct ways, one of which is A-PAC, I have chosen to pronounce the acronym with the same initial sound as in the word 'aisle'. To me, this pronunciation is more appropriate, because the use of the A for America sound is subtly misleading. The organization has nothing to do with A for America, it is all about I for Israel. In the graphic illustration near the end of this video, had the mathematical relationships been absolutely accurate, either the Orange would have filled the screen or the pea would have been invisible. The discrepancy between the power AIPAC wields, compared to the rest of the American population, is immense, and that power benefits one nation: Israel. Reference: www.aipac.org
